Technical wood wool for composites

نویسندگان

چکیده

Due to its very good mechanical properties at low density, wood is a high potential and sustainable raw material for composite applications. Wood as small particles are commonly processed with polymers Wood-Polymer-Composites (WPC). Thereby, the inherent strength of not used full potential. In order transfer solid shaping composite, wool were studied. well-known in wood-processing industry mainly packaging, animal bedding insulation boards [1, 2]. The use flexible, formable reinforcement polymer composites known so far. Therefore industrial developed experimental investigated evaluated their suitability fibre composites. properties, particular tensile strength, relevant factors.

Fracture Toughness of Wood and Wood Composites during Crack Propagation

The mode I fracture toughness as a function of crack length of medium density fiberboard (MDF), particle board (PB), and Douglas-fir (DF) were all measured using a new energy-based method. PB and MDF are examples of composites that develop fiber bridging during crack propagation, which causes their toughness to increase with crack length. Longitudinal cracks in DF also displayed fiber bridging ...

Structure and Properties of Wood/ Polypropylene Composites

Composite wood products have traditionally relied on thermosetting polymers like phenol-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde resins as binders. The continuing need to effectively utilize lignocellulosic fiber from lowquality hardwoods and from recycling streams has prompted consideration of new composites based on thermoplastic polymers [ 1,2]. Much of the development effort has focused on commod...
